Now Hiring Electrical CAD/BIM Coordinator

Schaeffer Electric Company is looking to hire a new Electrical CAD/BIM Coordinator.  This position requires a self-motivated individual who brings a strong work ethic and is results driven.

Description:
Coordinate all design, drawing management, BIM development, and prefab integration.

Day to day tasks include:

  • Coordinate all project drawings.
  • Manage drawings on centralized website.
  • Work to integrate prefab into all projects.  This includes seeking out opportunities for prefab and utilzing CAD/BIM to display the work.
  • Develop CAD standards.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of 3D CAD/BIM drawing is required.
  • Experience in the electrical industry is preferred.
  • Ability to layout branch circuiting; to read and understand contract documents, drawings and specifications a plus.
  • Have an understanding of general electrical design and engineering concepts and have an overall general knowledge of electrical material costs a plus.

Now Hiring Assistant PM for Commercial & Industrial

Schaeffer Electric Company is looking to hire a new Assistant Project Manager.  This position requires a self-motivated individual who brings a strong work ethic and is results driven.

Responsibilities:
Take over a project from an estimator and follow the project through to completion on all types of construction including but not limited to hospitals, schools, industrial facilities, and commercial buildings.

Day to day tasks include:

  • Procure subcontractors, based on pre-determined requirements, to manage through completion of construction.
  • Collaborates with project construction team to prepare, review and monitor information and reports related to all costs involved in the budget for the project.
  • Manage sub-contractor relationship, which includes, but not limited to, initial scope and proposal review, developing final proposal based upon agreed scope of work.
  • Develop plan to comply with, and report, Minority Business Entity requirements for the project, as required.
  • Collaborate with developer, subcontractors, municipal entity, equipment suppliers, and site specific construction suppliers to develop a timeline for delivery and completion of milestones prior to project start-up.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements throughout the project and develop plans for manpower to meet budget.

Experience:

  • 0-3 plus years’ experience in the electrical industry.
  • College degree or experience in industry
  • Background with RFIs, Cost estimates hard bids, negotiating, material take-offs, and reading blue prints a plus.
  • Ability to layout branch circuiting; to read and understand contract documents, drawings and specifications a plus.
  • Have an understanding of general electrical design and engineering concepts and have an overall general knowledge of electrical material costs a plus.

President Chettle Elected to NECA St. Louis Board of Directors

SEC President, Tim Chettle, was elected to the Board of Directors of St. Louis Chapter NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association).  Tim was installed at the annual Chapter Dinner on January 25, 2014 and will serve a three year term.
